This Friday night (6.30) the next group of Derry players will descend on Owenbeg's gym for their screening and fitness testing. This is the first step of a structured strength & conditioning programme aimed at development towards the 2017 county minor squad.
In another new development Director of Football Brian McIver has put an emphasis on the U17 grade with Paddy Downey, John McErlain and Chris Collins making up the management team.
This season the U17 and Minor League will run parallel on Saturday's with a liaison in place with the minor management team leaving the door open for any player to be promoted to the minor squad.
