Both local schools have been drawn in the preliminary round
of the MacRory Cup after Monday’s draw.
St Mary’s Magherafelt face holders St Patrick’s Cavan while St Patrick’s
Maghera have been paired with Abbey CBS.
Cavan have a considerable number of the players from last year's Cavan minor team still in their ranks. Maghera are in a similar situation with Shea Downey, Patrick Kearney, Conor Glass, Shane McGuigan and Jack Doherty back on board from that successful Derry minor team and two seasons ago they defeated St Colman's in the Rannafast Final.
Dates and venues have not been released but this now gives teams a chance to prepare for the competition.
