Loup held off a stiff second half challenge from Glen to get over the line in this Larkin Cup game on Tuesday night.
In a tight first half it was nip and tick for long periods. Ciaran McFaul scored three points to keep Glen in touch.
In previous years the domestic cups didn't have the same appeal but this game was excellent preparation for the start of the league.
Declan McVey with three points from play and Anthony O'Neill from frees edged Loup a point ahead.

Just before the interval came the game's only goal. Aidan McAlynn, Jason Rocks and Gavin Mallon were involved in the attack and it was finished by Anthony O'Neill.
Trailing 1-8 to 0-7 at half-time, Glen game right back into the game in the second half with points from Michael Warnock, Ciaran McFaul and two from Danny Tallon.
After early points from Brian Doyle and Anthony O'Neill Loup were under pressure from Glen but Dominic McVey defended well with the help of sweeper Joe Devlin. In the end it was a pointed free from O'Neill with three minutes to go that proved to be the winning score.
Loup now face Slaughtneil in Saturday's final.
