Hughes to lead Dungiven's 2016 challenge

Armagh native Brendan Hughes has been named as the new manager of Dungiven.

Now residing in Derry City where he coaches with Steelstown underage teams.  Hughes is well versed on the Derry club scene and was manager of Glen in the past.

In 2009 he led his native Pearse Ógs to an Armagh title, but more significantly he stopped the mighty Crossmaglen in the semi-final.  The mighty Rangers were gunning for an amazing fourteen title in a row.  He has vast experience with county management at all levels with the Orchard County.

In recent weeks there has been substantial change in St Canice's with Kieran McKeever taking over as chairman and he hasn't been sitting around, he has been active on all fronts.  The former Derry defender has been heavily involved in the much documented campaign to upgrade sporting facilities in the town.
